OLPC Translation Project
In November 2009, the Kosrae Department of Education will be receiving an order of 1200 OLPCs. These computers will be distributed to students in 5th - 9th grade (Next year, computers will be distributed to grades 1 - 4). To ensure that the students get the most out of these computers, we'd like to have all possible materials translated into Kosraean. To do this, we need the public's assistance.Instructions on how to translate
- Go to http://translate.sugarlabs.org.
- Click on "Register" > this is found in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
- Fill in your details and click "Register Account."
- After you have confirmed your account through email, return to http://translate.sugarlabs.org.
- Click on "All languages" found near the top of the page. Once the list populates, click on Kosraean.
- Click on any of the projects to see a list or words and phrases that need to be translated.
- For example, if you click on the "Terminology" Project, you would see the following:
- Then click on "glossary.po"
- To edit a word or phrase, place your mouse to the write of the box and you will see an "Edit" option pop up. Click on that and translate away.
