Continued Growth and Support

The Special Education program within the Kosrae Department of Education is currently spearheaded by Dr. Vickie Meade. Dr. Meade and her small staff are currently working on assessing individual students needs to be successful in their learning environments. Children as young as 3 years old are currently being assessed and IEPs are being created. Based on these IEPs, some students are placed into regular classes with a "helper", there to ensure that they are successful with this full integration.
